Accompt of the said Gunnell In testimony whereof we have here-
unto subscribed our hands & affixed our scales this fifth day of Octo-
ber in the third yeare of the Dominion of the right Honble Charles
&c Annoq Doni 1678.

Now here att this day to witt the Eleventh day of October in the
third yeare of the Dominion of Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annoq
Doni 1678. came as well the said Richard Covell by Christopher His
Attorney as the said Edward Gunnell by Kenelm Cheseldyn his
Attorney likewise came And the aforegoing Report of the Auditors
aforesaid being read & heard, the Defendt delivered upp unto the
plaintiffes Attorney these bills following Vizt Wm Dorringtons bill
for ffoure hundred thirty six pounds of tobacco paid Wm Stevens
foure hundred pounds of tobacco Humphrey Waters bill for foure
hundred & forty pounds of tobacco, Grace Parkers bill for twelve
hundred & thirty pounds of tobacco, Wm Williamsons bill for six
hundred Sixty five pels of tobacco, Paid to Mr Robert Carvile Eight
hundred pounds of tob: two hogsheads of tobacco received of Henry
Mitchell & marked with the proper marke of the said Richard Covell
which was stolne away weighing neat Nine hundred two pounds of
tobacco All which severall sumes account to in the whole the sume
of ffoure thousand nine hundred Sixty three pounds of tobacco Of
which Sume the Defendt humbly craves an allowance to be deducted
out of the aforesaid Sume of twelve thousand fiue hundred thirty
seven pounds And itt is granted Whereupon itt is considered by the
Court here that the said Richard Covell recover against the said
Edward Gunnell the sume of seven thousand five hundred seventy
foure pounds of tobacco due upon the ballance of the accompts
aforesaid As also Eight hundred & twelve pounds of tobacco costs
of suite And the Defendt in mercy

Comand was given to the Sheriffe of St Maryes
County, that whereas John Dormand was Attached to
Answer unto Thomas Smith in a plea of trespas upon
the case In such manner in this Court itt is proceeded
|
|
that the said Thomas Smith ought to recover against the said John
Dormand his damages by reason of the prmisses, but because itt was
not known what damages the aforesaid Thomas Smith hath sus-
tained by occasion thereof Therefore itt was comanded the same
Sheriffe that he cause to come here to witt the fifteenth day of
Octobr in the third yeare of the Dominion of Charles Lord Balte-
more &c Anoq Doni 1678. twelve good & lawfull men of his County
diligently to enquire what damages the aforesaid Thomas Smith
hath sustained by occasion of the prmisses
