Whereas by Vertue of a Comission directed to
us whose names are hereunto subscribed from
the right Honble the Lord Propry of this Province

bearing date the Eighteenth day of June last past
we were impowered to Audite state & examine the severall accompts
betweene Josiah Bacon & John Edmondson. In pursuance whereof
we the said Auditors formerly under our hands & Seales ordered the
parties above specified as likewise their Attorneys to appeare att the
house of Mr Richard Keen in Petuxent River upon the twenty sev-
enth day of August last past Att which tyme & place aforesaid ap-
peared Mr Christopher Rousby Attorney for the said Josiah Bacon
& Mr Robert Carvile Attorney for the said John Edmondson And
upon the request of the said Robert Carvile & affirmacon to us that
Mr Ridgely who is principally concerned for the said Edmondson &
who hath all his papers of concernes is not able to appeare by reason
of sicknes And that he cannot proceed without Very much prejudice
to his Clyent, we though fitt & convenient to Adjourne the auditeing
& stateing of the said accompts untill this prsent day Att which tyme
we formerly ordered the said parties to appeare as by a writeing here-
unto annexed more att large appeareth. And this day came before
us Mr Christopher Rousby Attorney for the plaintiffe & likewise
Mr Robert Ridgely Attorney for the Defendt And whereas the plain-
tiffe chargeth the said Defendt with severall Goods & Mrchandizes
amounting to thirty Eight pounds Eight shillings sterling which the
said Edmondson acknowledgeth to haue received and to haue dis-
posed of them for the use of the said Josiah Bacon And the said
John Edmondson endeavoureth to discharge himselfe of the same
as by accompt hereunto annexed appeareth, to the particulers of
which accompt we report as followeth Vizt Imprs as to the foure
hogsheads of tobacco Shipt in the Shipp Hopewell of London
Michael Yoakley Master as p bill Ladeing appeareth weighing neat
Seventeen hundred & tenn pounds of tobacco we think reasonable
& fitt to allow As likewise the Eight hogsheads of tobacco Shipt in
the Shipp Adventure of London weighing neat five thousand three
hundred & twenty pounds of tobacco As also for storeidge two hun-
