Comand was given to the Sheriffe of Charles
County that he take Robert Thompson otherwise
called Robert Thompson of Charles County in the

Liber N N
p. 727

Province of Maryland gentt if he should be found
in his bailywick & him safely keep so that he have his body here
the Eighth day of October in the third yeare of the Dominion of
Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annoq Doni 1678 to Answer unto
Robert Carvile gentl of a plea that he render unto him twelve hun-
dred pounds of tobacco which to him he oweth & unjustly detaineth
Att which said Eighth day of October in the yeare aforesaid the
same Sheriffe made returne of the writt aforesaid that the said
Robert Thompson is not to be found in his bailywick. Whereupon
the said Robert prayed an Attachment against the Goods & Chattells
of the said Robert Thompson according to Act of Assembly & itt
is granted unto him by the Court here

Memorandum that his Lordshipp the Lord Propry of
this Province sendeth his writt of habere facias pos-
session to the Sheriffe of Calvert County directed
which followeth in these words Charles absolute

Lord & Propry of the Provinces of Maryland & Avalon Lord Baron
of Baltemore &c To the Sheriffe of Calvert County greeting Whereas
Richard Ball Lessee of Elizabeth Letchworth Widdow Mother &
Guardian of Joseph Letchworth Sonn & heyre of Thomas Letch-
worth deceased in right of the said Joseph att a Provinciall Court
held att our City of St Maryes the Eighteenth day of June instant
before our Justices of our said Court hath recovered against Bernard
Johnson her possession of & in one Mannor & Messuage & two thou-
sand acres of land lying on the South side of Petuxent River in
Calvert County aforesaid called Brooke Court Mannor otherwise
the Aquasco with the appurtenfices which he the said Bernard John-
son hath unjustly detained from him Therefore we comand you
that to him the said Richard Ball his possession of the said Messuage
& prmisses with the appurtenfices without delay you cause to be had
& given And in what manner you execute this precept that you
make known to our Justices of our said Court to be held att
