Thomas Ceely

Comand was given to the Sheriffe of St Maryes
County that he should Attach any the Goods
or Chatties of Thomas Ceely if they should
be found in his bailvwick to the Value of

foure thousand pounds of tobacco And also itt was turther com-
anded the same Sheriffe, that he should Attach any the Goods or
Chatties of the aforesaid Thomas Ceely if they should be found
in his bailywick to the value of two thousand Six hundred Sixty
seven pounds of tobacco And when he had the same so Attached
or any part thereof the same in his custody to keepe untill the said
Thomas Ceely should by himselfe or his Attorney appeare here the
third day oi June in the fourth yeare of the Dominion of Charles
Lord Baltemore &c Annoq Doni 1679. to Answer unto Nehemia[h]
Blakiston gentt in two actions of a plea of trespasse upon the case
on which said third day of June in the yeare aforesaid the same
Sheriffe maketh returne of the writts aforesaid, that he hath At-
tached in the hands of James Johnson bills to the Value of ffoure
thousand pounds of tobacco, & two thousand six hundred sixty seven
pounds of tobacco Whereupon the said Nehemiah Blakiston prayed
that the bills so Attached as aforesaid might be condemned unto
him, & itt is granted by the Court here, the said Nehemiah Blakiston
giueing security according to Act of Assembly in that case made &
provided.

Afterwards to witt the fifth day of June in the yeare aforesaid
came the said Nehemiah Blakiston with Henry Bonner & Richard
Edelen his security, who undertooke for the said Nehemiah in the
Sume of Six thousand six hundred Sixty seven pounds of tobacco
to indempnifie this Court for granting the Attachmts aforesaid And
to make restitucon of the said bills or of the Value thereof to the
said Thomas Ceely In case the said Thomas shall appeare in his
proper person or by his Attorney within One yeare & a day, & make
his just defence to & proceed on in the said actions in comon forme
And make itt appeare that the said Nehemiah Blakiston is satis-
fied his just demands or any part thereof according to the true intent
& meaning of a certaine Act of Assembly in that case made &
prouided
