William Hayward, Esq; from the Upper House, delivers to M.r
Speaker a Petition of Benjamin Harris of Frederick County.
The House adjourns till 3 O'Clock.

Post Meridiem.
The House met.
On further Progression in reading the Bill for the Regulation of
Officers Fees, the Question was put, That there be an Allowance
to the Sheriff for executing the Sentence of Death on every con-
demned Criminal ? Carried in the Negative.
