The House took into Consideration the said Petition against M.r

Josias Hawkins and after Examination of several Witnesses at the
Bar Resolved, That Josias Hawkins is guilty of treating at the late
Election for Charles County and the Question was put that M.r
Josias Hawkins is duly elected a Burgess to serve in this General
Assembly for Charles County? Resolved in the Negative

Ordered, That the sitting Members be called in; and they appeared
at the Bar accordingly
Ordered, That M.r Speaker do acquaint the Gentlemen with the
Resolutions of the House and inform them that they are discharged
from any further Attendance as Members of this House. Which
he accordingly did.
Ordered, That M.r Francis Ware and M.r Josias Hawkins do pay
the Charge arising due on the said Petition
Ordered, That M.r Beall, M.r Chase and M.r Tilghman be a Com-
mittee to tax the ffees arising due on the said Petition
Ordered, That M.r Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Secretary
of this Province requiring him to make out a new Writ of Election
directed to the Sheriff of Charles County to elect two Delegates to
serve in this present Session of Assembly in the Room of M.r Francis
Ware and M.r Josias Hawkins whose Seats are vacated
The House adjourns till To-Morrow Morning 9 O'Clock

Tuesday October 15.th 1771
The House met.

All Members present as on Yesterday except M.r Tilghman and
M.r Earle.
The Proceedings of Yesterday were read.
M.r T Wright appeared in the House
On Motion, Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for
the Adjournment and Continuance of the High Court of Appeals.
M.r Paca brings in and delivers to M.r Speaker the said Bill. Which
was read the first and second Time by an especial Order, passed, and
sent to the Upper House by M.r Para and M.r Hall.

On Motion, Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to
prevent the Exportation of Flour, Staves and Shingles not merchant-
able from the Town of Baltimore, or Fell's Point in Baltimore
County, and to regulate the Weight of Hay and Measure of Grain,
Salt, Flax Seed and Fire Wood within the said Town: And that
M.r Moale, M.r Deye, M.r Risteau, M.r Owings, M.r Paca and M.r
Chase do prepare and bring in the same.
On Motion, Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Supple-
mentary Bill to the Act entitled An Act for the building of a Parish
