The bill entitled an act reviving and continuing an act entitled an
act to establish a market at the market house in Chester town in Kent
County, and for the regulation of the said market: Read the first
and second time by an especial order, and will pass. Sent to the upper
house by M.r Bordley and M.r Buchannan.
The bill entitled an act for the relief of Joseph Scott of Worcester
County: Read the second time and will pass. Sent to the upper
house by M.r Allen and M.r Selbey.
The bill entitled an act for regulating the commissions and salaries
of judges of the provincial court: Read the first time and ordered
to lie on the table.

The bill entitled a supplementary act to the act entitled an act
for erecting a new parish in Kent County, called Chester parish, and
for building a parish Church, and enlarging a chapel of ease within
the said parish; read the second time and will pass. Sent to the upper
house by M.r Bordley and M.r Buchannan.

The bill entitled an act to impower the justices of Somerset and
Worcester Counties to levy on the taxable inhabitants of Stepney
parish in Somerset and Worcester Counties, the quantity of one
hundred and sixty thousand pounds of tobacco for the uses therein
mentioned; read the second time and will pass. Sent to the upper
house by M.r Allen and M.r Selbey.
The bill entitled an act for the better regulating the office of
sheriff, and further advancement of justice within this province; read
the first time with the amendments, and ordered to lie on the table.
The house adjourns 'til to morrow morning 9 o'clock

The house met according to adjournment. The members were
called and all appeared, as on yesterday. The proceedings of yester-
day were read.
The petition of Robert Lamar, read a second time; and referred
to the consideration of the committee of accounts

The bill entitled an act to prevent any obstruction of the navigation
in the River Potowmack; read, with the amendments proposed by
the upper house, and passed for ingrossing
M.r Gresham appeared in the house
The petitions, of sundry prisoners, which were delivered by
Samuel Chamberlaine esquire; read the first time and ordered to
lie on the table.
M.r Ringgold brings in and delivers to M.r speaker the following
report
By the committee appointed to confer with Messieurs Prigg and
Calder, concerning the variation of the compass, and report to the
