Col.o Hooper from the Upper House delivers to M.r Speaker
a Petition of John Deal a languishing Prisoner in Prince Georges
County Goal. Indorsed by the Upper House Referred to the
Consideration of the Lower House.
Which Petition was read here the first and Second time and
Granted
The Bill Entituled an Act for Tryal of all matters of fact in the
several Countys where they have arisen or shall arise was Read
the first time and Ordered to lye on the Table
On reading a Second time the Petition of Thomas Schley and
John Jeremiah Myer
Ordered that Tho.s Johnson S. Wilson Esq:rs and Col.o Cresap
be a Committee to enquire into the Allegations and facts contained
in the said Petition and Report the same to the House
M:r Harris brings in and delivers to M.r Speaker a Bill Entituled
an Act for the Relief of certain Languishing Prisoners in the
several Goals therein mentioned, Which was read the first time

And Ordered to lye on the Table
On Motion the Question was put Whether the fees arising due
on Prosecution of Slaves in the County Courts be Paid by the
Publick, Or by the Particular Countys where the facts are Com-
mitted
Resolved that the fees be paid by the Particular Countys
On Motion of M.r Grahame leave given to bring in a Bill to
direct the manner of paying fees arising on the Prosecution of
Slaves in the County Courts
Ordered that M.r Grahame M.r J. Goldsborough T. Johnson and
J. Hall Esq.rs do Prepare and bring in a Bill accordingly
The House Adjourns till the morrow morning at 9 of the Clock

A Letter from James Otis Esq:r of the Massachusets Bay di-
rected to William Murdock Edward Tilghman and J. Ringgold
Esq:rs (Requesting them to make a Representation in a Just and
favourable manner to have an Allowance made to the Clerk of the
late Congress at New York by this Province) being Communicated
to this House And the said Letter being Read the first and Second
time Resolved that this House will not make any further Allowance
