Purposes therein mentioned, whereon to indorse your Assent or
Negative, according to the established Mode of Parliamentary
Proceeding.
But hope, from the evident Utility of the Bill, and to relieve
the extreme Distress of the People, your Honours will give your
Assent, as we are clearly of Opinion, it may in its present Frame,
be well carried into Execution; and, that if any of the small Matters,
pointed out by your Message, should be thought Imperfections,
they may be aided at a Time of more Leisure, as well as those
material Defects you intimate to be in the Bill; but, which we are
not at present able to discover

Which was sent to the Upper House, with the Bill, entitled, An
Act for Payment of the public Claims, &.ta by Daniel Wols[t]enholme,
Esq and 14 more.
W. Murdock, Esq brings in, and delivers to M.r Speaker, an
Address to his Majesty: Which was read the first and second
Time, approved, and ordered to be ingrossed.
S. Chase, Esq brings in, and delivers to M.r Speaker, an in-
grossed Bill, entitled. An Act impowering the Justices of Frederick
County, to levy, &ta a Quantity of Tobacco, for building a Stone
Wall around the Prison, &.ta which was read and assented to, and
sent to the Upper House, with the Paper Bill of the aforesaid
ingrossed Bill, by M.r Bealle, and M.r Wright.
B. Calvert, Esq from the Upper House, delivers to Mr Speaker,
the Bill, entitled, An Act to aid defective Common Recoveries:
Indorsed, "By the Upper House of Assembly, Dec.r 4, 1766: Read
the second Time, and will pass, leaving out all that follows the
Word, "notwithstanding," in the fifth Line of the last Page.
Signed by Order, U. Scott, Cl. Up. Ho."

Which Alterations being agreed to by this House, the said Bill
was indorsed: Read and passed for ingrossing.
The Governor's Message of the 18.th Ult. and of the Third
Instant, were severally read the second Time.
And on Motion, Ordered, That T. Johnson, T. Ringgold, Esq.rs
M.r Grahame, J. Hammond, J. Hall of Annapolis, and D Wolsten-
holme, Esq.rs do prepare and bring in an Address to the Governor,
in Answer thereto.
The House adjourns till To Morrow Morning at 9 of the Clock.

Friday, December 5.th
The House met.
All the Members appeared as Yesterday, except M.r Hall, of
Baltimore.
