Tuesday, December 2.
The House met.
The Bill, entitled, An Act impowering the Justices of Frederick
County, to levy on the Taxable Inhabitants of said County, a
Quantity of Tobacco, for building a Stone Wall around the Public
Prison, &ta was read the second Time, and will pass, and was sent
to the Upper House, by M.r Gantt, and M.r Smith.
S. Chase, Esq brings in, and delivers to M.r Speaker, a Bill,
entitled, a Supplementary Act to the Act, entitled, An Act for the
Direction of Sheriffs in their Offices, and the restraining their ill
Practices, within this Province: Which was read the first Time,
and Ordered to lye on the Table.

M.r Grahame, brings in and delivers to M.r Speaker, a Bill,
entitled, A Supplementary Act to the Act, entitled, An Act for
amending the Staple of Tobacco, for preventing Frauds in his
Majesty's Customs, and for the Limitation of Officers Fees: Which
was read the first Time, and ordered to lye on the Table.
The Bill, entitled, An Act to oblige infected Ships and other
Vessels coming into this Province, to perform Quarentine: Was
read the first Time, and ordered to lye on the Table
The House adjourns till 2 of the Clock.

Post Meridiem.
The House met

D. Dulany, Esq from the Upper House, delivers to M.r Speaker,
the Bill, entitled, An Act for the Relief of certain Languishing
Prisoners, &.ta Indorsed, "By the Upper House of Assembly, Decem-
ber, 2, 1766: Read the second Time, and will pass, leaving out the
Names of John Doncastle, of Charles County; and of Mayberry
Helmes, Tun.r of Baltimore County:"
And the Bill, entitled, An Act impowering the Justices of Fred-
erick County, to levy on the Taxable Inhabitants of said County,
a Quantity of Tobacco for building a Stone Wall around the Public
Prison, &.to Indorsed, " By the Upper House of Assembly, Decem-
ber 2, 1766 ; Read the first and second Time, by especial Order, and
will pass." Which Bill was read here, and passed for ingrossing.

On Motion, That a Message be prepared, and sent to the Upper
House, to enforce the Passage of the Prisoners Bill:

Ordered, That S. Chase, Esq M.r Hanson, and W. Murdock,
Esq do prepare and bring in a Message accordingly.

B. Calvert, Esq from the Upper House, delivers to M.r Speaker,
the Bill, entitled, An Act for the Payment of the Public Claims, for
emitting Bills of Credit, and for other Purposes therein mentioned.
