                502 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1671—16 74.

          Liber E    Defdt & did sevall dayes after carefully looke after the sd horse,
                For which the Defdt did assume & promise to pay unto the Plt upon
                demand the Sume of fower hundred pounds of tobacco, which the Plt
                demandinge & the Defdt neglectinge & refuseinge to pay the same,
                the Plt is damaged 600 lb tobacco as he saitli, who proveinge his
                declaracon p the subsequent witnesses vizt Richard Dod John
                Kimborrow & Thomas Pope, The Court Ordered the Defdt should
                pay unto the Plt fower hundred pounds of tobacco & Costs of Suite
                which foll vizt.

                  Daniell Browne petitioninge the Court for releife, in regard of
                his lameness & want, the Court hath Ordered him Eight hundred
                pounds of tobacco to be paid out of the County levey this pnt yeare

                  In a difference betweene Richard Dod Plt & Richard Ambrose
                Defdt the Court hath Ordered a nonsuite agst the plt for non ap-
                peareance the Costs whereof follow vizt.

                  Edward 1'ypton petitioninge the Court for his freedome, his
                maister MT Humphry Warren makeinge it appeare that he had not
                served his full tyme accordinge to the forth Judgmt of the Cort It is
                ordered that the sd Typton goe home & follow his maisters busines
                untill his tyme be expired as he was first adjudged

                  In a difference dependinge betweene Richard Ambrose Plt & John
                Kimborrow Defdt the Plt declares by Nicholas Best his Attorñ & the
                Defdt appeares to defend the suite Vizt the Plt saith that the Defdt
                Did on 20th of May in the 41th yeare of the Dominion of Caecilius &c
                receive of him the Plt goods & mchandizes to the value of Seaven
                hundred twenty & fower pounds of tobacco which the Defdt did
                assume & promise to pay to the Plt neglectinge & refuseinge the
                Plt saith he is damnified two thousand pounds of tobo in regard
                he is bound away for England by the first Convayance, the Plt
                proveinge his declaracon obteyned Judgmt for Seaven hundred
                twenty fower pounds of tobacco & Costs of Suite which followes
                on the othr side
