Richard Chubb Tho: Raddon Know all men by theis pntes that I Alexander Doniphon of Ply- mouth thcht by virtue of a lre of Attorney to me granted by Thomas Yeabsley of Plymouth thchant & Executor of the last will & Testament of Amos Short late in Maryland dee, beareinge date the 29th day of July in the three & twentith yeare of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second &c Annoq Dni 1671 have constituted or- deyned & appointed and by theise pntes doe constitute ordeine & appointe Samuell Cressey of Charles Countie in the Province of Maryland my true & lawfull Attorney for me & in my name to require recover & receive of any pson or psons whatsoever any such debt or debts as shall appeare to be due to the said Amos Short from any [fol. 130] pson or psons whatsoever in this province of Mary-Land Giveinge & by theise pntes grantinge unto my said Attorney my wholl & full power & authoritie To Act or doe or cause to be Acted or done in & for the Recovery of the premisses as far forth as the Law will pmitt or I might doe if psonally prsent And all & whatsoever my said At- torney shall doe or cause to be done in & concerninge the premisses I doe promise to Ratifie & allow of as if done by my self e or I were there present In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale this first day of October Anno Domini 1672. Signed Sealed & deliVd Alexander Doniphann in the pnce of us in the behalf e of Thomas Hen: Adams yeabsley (loc Thomas Nuttinge Sigit) To the Worshippfull the Comissioners of Charles County the humble Peticon of Thomas Damer humbly Sheweth That Whereas the sd Thomas Damer did on the twenty first day of August in the yeare of our Lord 1668 Covenant & agree wth Thomas Tolson of London Mercht to Serve him the sd Tolson or his assignes for the term of fowre yeares after his first & next arivall in Virginia or Maryland as by a Testimoniall from under the Seale of the office here in Court pduced it may appeare Yet Nevertheless Humphry warren Mercht Factor for the sd Thomas Tolson did at his arrivall into this Province contrary to the sd Covenant Sell your Peticoner here for the Custome of the Countrey and tooke the sd Testimoniall of the Office from your peticoner and blotted out your Peticoners name and put in the name of another Servt wch was at the same tyme Sold by him Soe that your Peticoner is thereby much |
