336 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1671—1674.
Liber E fraudulently intending them the Said John & Robert of the Said
Sume of 2300 lb tobaccoe to deceive the Said Sume of 2300 lb tobaccoe
according to the tenon of his obligacon hath not Satisfied but doth
altogether refuse to pay the Same whereupon the Sd John & Robert
Say they are damnified & have loss to the vallew of 2900 lb tob &
thereupon they bring their Suite.
And for proofe of this their declaracon they produced this Ensuing
bill
Know all men by these pnts that I Henry Bonner of Charles
County in the province of maryland Gent: doe acknowledge to owe
& Stand indebted unto Francis Bullock of the Same County merchant
him his heires Exrs Admrs or Assignes the just quantity of two
thousand three hundred pounds of Sound merchantable Tobaccoe in
Caske to be payd in Some Convenient place in potowmack river att
or upon the tenth of october next Ensueing the date & for the true
performance of the Same I bind my Selfe my heires Execrs Admrs
or Assignes as wittnes my hand & Seale this being the 27th day of

whereupon the Said Henry Bonner acknowledged a Judgemt to the
Said John Hatch & Robt Rowlands for the Sume of 2300 lb of
tobaccoe with Costs of Suite.
Likewise in another matter of Difference depending between the
Said John Hatch & Robert Rowlands Admrs of the goods Chattells &
Creditts of Francis Bullock deed plts & Henry Bonner Deft in a
plea of trespas upon the Case
The pits preferred their declaracon to be read in Court as fol-
loweth
John Hatch & Robt Rowlands Admrs of the Goods Chattells &
Creditts of francis Bullock deed of Francis Bullock decd against
Henry Bonner in a plea of trespas upon the Case
And whereupon the Said John & Robert Complaine agt the Said
[fol. 44] Henry for tht whereas the Said Henry on the 27th day of october
in the xxxviiith yeare of the dominion of Caecilius &c Annoq Domini
1669 or thereabouts had & received from the above named Francis
Bullock Severall goods & merchandizes amounting to the Sume of
Three hundred fifty & nine pounds of tobaccoe & Caske as by a
particular accot here in Court by the Said John & Robert produced
more plainly may appeare In Consideracon whereof the Said Henry
did then assume on himselfe & to the Said Francis did faithfully
promise that he the Said Henry the Said Sume of 359 lb of Tobaccoe
wn thereunto required would well & truly Satisfy & pay Yet never-
theles the Said Henry his Said promise & assumption little minding
