178 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1668—1670.
Liber D acknowledge and thereof and therefrom and from everie part and
Parcell thereof doth Acquitt exonerate and discharge the Robert
his heires executors and. Administrators Hath graunted Bargained
Sold aliened assigned, and Set over and by these presents Doth fully
Clearelie, and Absolutely Graunt Bargaine Sell alien assigne and set
over all tht Parcell of Land Called Napping lyeing in Charles Countie
in the Woods on the West side of Portobaccoe or St Thomass Creeke
[p. 40] Beginning at a Marked oake the Bound tree of Garret Synnet and
Running east for Breadth the Length of fifty perches to a Marked
oake the Bound tree of Archibald Wayhop Bounding on the east
wth the sd Wayhops Land by a Line drawne South from the sd oake
for the Length of three hundred and twenty perches to a Bounded
oake on the South with a Line Drawne west from the end of the
Former Line for the Length of fiftie perches to a Bounded. oake tht
Standeth by a Pathe tht Leadeth to Mattawoman on the West wth a
Line drawne North from the end of the former Line to the first
Bounded oake of Garret Synnets on the North with the sd Synnets
Land Containing and now Laid out for one Hundred Acres more
or lesse together wth all Rights proffits and Benefits thereunto Be-
longing (Royall Mines excepted) To Have and to Hold the Same
unto the sd Robt Casleton his heires and assignes for ever to be
Holden of the Rt Honble Caecilius Lord Proprietary &c and of them
and their heires as of their Mannor of Zachaiah in free and Common
Soccage by Fealty only for all Manner of Services yeilding and
Paying therefore yearely unto them or their heires at their Receipt
at St Maries at the two most usuall Feasts in the yeare (vizt) At
the Feast of the Anunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and at the
Feast of St Michael the Arch Angell by even and equall Portions
the rent of Two Shillings Sterling in Silver or gold or the full
Value thereof in such Commodities as they or their heires or Such
officer or officers appointed by them or their heires from time to
time to Collect or Receave the same shall Accept in discharge thereof
at the Choice of them and their heires or such officer or officers as
aforesd To Have and to Hold the 3d Tract of Land and Premises
with their appurtenances and everie part and Parcell thereof unto
the Robt Casleton his heires and assignes for ever And the
John Cane fur himselfe his heires Executrs and Administrators
Doth Covenant, and graunt to and wth the sd Robt Casleton his heires
Executrs Administratrs and Assignes and every of them by these
Presents tht he the sd Robt Casleton his heires Executrs Administratrs
and Assignes Shall and may Lawfully Peaceably and quietly Have
hold use occupie Possesse and enjoy all and all Manner of the prem-
ises before and by these Presents graunted and Sold and everie part
and parcell thereof wth every the Rights Members and Appurtenances
thereunto Belonging or in any way appertaining without the Lawfull
Lett suite trouble eviction expulsion Interruption or Demand of or
