is very inconvenient for many of the Parishoners to attend divine
Service and that Others of the said Parishes are so small that the
Incomes thereof are not sufficient for a Comfortable and decent
Support for a Minister and that it would be for the general Ease &
Convenience of the Parishioners of the said Parishes if the same
Parishes were laid out anew and the future Bounds & Limits of
them respectively ascertained it is therefore prayed that it may be
enacted

And be it enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary
by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's Governor and
the upper and lower Houses of Assembly and the Authority of the
same That Robert Lloyd, Edward Tilghman, James Hollyday,
Thomas Wright, Richard Tilghman Earle, William Hemsley, Nathan
Samuel Turbett Wright, Solomon Wright, John Brown Benjamin
Gould, James Hackett, Thomas Ringgold and Christopher Cross
Routh of Queen Anns County Gentlemen shall be and are hereby
Constituted and appointed Commissioners for laying out a new and
setting and ascertaining the future Bounds of S.t Lukes Christ
Church and Saint John's Parishes in Queen Anns County and S.t
Pauls Parish lying partly in Queen Ann's and partly in Talbot
County which Commissioners are hereby required and directed to
meet together on or before the first Day of March next, at Queen's
Town in Queen Ann's County aforesaid and they or the major
Part of them being so met together shall and may Choose a fit and

qualified Person to be their Clerk to make Entries of their Pro-
ceedings in a Book to be by him provided for that Purpose and shall
and may adjourn from Time to Time to any Day and Place which
to them shall seem most Convenient for the purpose of putting this
Act in Execution.

And be it further Enacted that the said Clerk so to be Chosen
shall before his Entring upon the Execution of his Duty take an
Oath well and truly to demean himself therein and true Entries to
make of the Proceedings of the said Commissioners

And be it further enacted that the said Commissioners or the
major Part of them taking to their Assistance the Surveyor of
Queen Anns County aforesaid as often as shall appear to them
needfull who is hereby required to attend the said Commissioners
at such Times and Places as they or the major Part of them shall
appoint and do what shall be by them required of him in the Execu-
tion of this Act shall with all Convenient Speed and as soon as may
be after their said first Meeting proceed to lay out anew and settle
and ascertain the respective future Limitts of the said Parishes by
such natural and artificial Bounds & Lines as to them or the major
Part of them shall appear to be most Conducive to the Ends and
Intention of this Act, and shall finish and Compleat the same Division
on or before the twentieth Day of May next.
