[Vestry to
Contract for
building an
addition to
said Church]

the said other place; And this present General Assembly thinking
the said Prayer reasonable so far as to make the said Place in
Chester Town a Chappie of Ease in the said Parish, Be it therefore
Enacted by the Authority aforesaid that it shall and may be Lawful
for the said Vestry of Chester Parish and they are hereby required
to contract and agree with a proper Person or Persons for the
Building finishing and Compleating (all but the Pews) an Addition
to the said House of Worship in Chester Town Sufficiently large,
together with the said House already Built, to hold the People of the
said Town and of the Neighbourhood thereabouts, so as it does
not Cost more than fifty Thousand Pounds of Tobacco and that the
said Vestry Shall contract and agree with a Proper Person or Per-
sons to erect and finish Pews in the said Addition which when
finished the said Vestry are hereby authorized and required to Sell
and dispose of to such of the People of the Town resident in and
owners of Lotts therein, and have not Pews already in the old part
of the said Building, and others Freeholders in the said Parish con-
venient to the said Church for Such reasonable price as will in the
whole be Sufficient to pay for the erecting the said Pews which said
Ground or Land and House thereon and Addition when so built

and finished shall be and is hereby declared to be constituted and
deemed the Land and Chappie of Ease of the said Parish; and the
said Chappie forever hereafter shall be Supported and repaired
at the Charge of the said Parish; And the Incumbent for the time
being of Chester Parish aforesaid shall and is hereby required to
perform divine Service on Sundays Alternately at the Parish Church
of the said Parish and the said Chappie of Ease in Chester Town

ments, and
pay the

And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid that the
Sheriff of the County aforesaid for the time being shall and is
hereby impowered and required to Collect and receive the said
Assessments so as aforesaid made by the said Court in the same
manner and in the same time as he collects other Public and Parish
dues and that he and his Securities shall be answerable for the Same
and he or his Executors or Administrators shall pay the Said Sums
so assessed to the Vestry of Chester Parish aforesaid or to their Order
or Orders at any time after he has collected, or by Law ought to have
collected the same and the said Vestry or the Major part of them
are hereby Authorized and impowered to receive the Sums of To-
bacco and Money raised and collected by the Sheriff under the
Assessments as aforesaid or his Executors or Administrators for
the Uses and Purposes aforesaid or to draw orders for the Same
