Person to the Justices of Dorchester County after a good and
Sufficient Road and Causeway twelve feet wide at least at the Top
shall be made and perfected through the Marsh of Choptank River
in Dorchester County opposite to the main Road at Dover aforesaid

it shall and may be Law full for the said Justices and they are hereby
required to Cause a Road to be laid out and Sufficiently Cleared
and made from the Road that leads from Hunting Creek aforesaid
to Kingstown in Talbot County to the end of the said Causeway
where it shall join the fast Land and from thence with the said
Causeway to the River aforesaid and after the same shall be well
and Sufficiently Cleared and made the said Justices shall appoint
an Overseer with a Sufficient Number of the Neighbouring In-
habitants under his Directions to keep the said Road and Causeway
in good Repair as other roads ought to be kept without any Farther
tax upon the County under the like penalties for neglect or Umission
as other Overseers and people under them are by the Laws in force
relating to Publick roads liable to.

Public]

Provided always and be it enacted That the said Road shall be
laid out in Such manner and form as Shall be most to the Publick
Convenience and least to the Prejudice of the Possessor or Possessors
of the Lands on which the same shall be made

be levied to
pay the
expence]

And be it further Enacted that it shall and may be law full for the
Justices aforesaid and they are hereby required at their next Novem-
ber Court after Such application to assess and Levy on the Taxable
Inhabitants of the said County of Dorchester a Sufficient Sum to
defray the expenses of clearing and making the Road aforesaid
to be paid and collected in the Same manner that the County Levies
are paid and collected provided such Sum does not exceed the Quan-
tity of two thousand five hundred Pounds of Tobacco.
