Committee from this House to Draw up Instructions for the Gentle-
men Appointed a Committee to Join the several Committees from the
several Colonys in America at New York
On leading the 2.d time his Excellency the Governors Speech at
the Opening this Session Ordered that M.r Ringgold Col:o Tilghman
William Murdock Esq:r Henry Hollyday Esq:r and M.r Worthington
be a Committee to prepare an Address to the Governor in Answer
thereto
On Motion M.r John Duckett and M:r Turbutt Wright are
Appointed Clerks to Attend on the several Committees of this House.
Ordered that they be qualified in the Usual manner
M.r Henry Hall Acquaints M.r Speaker that M.r Duckett and
M.r Wright had taken the several Oaths to the Government required
by Law Subscribed the Oath of Abjuration repeating and Signing
the Test and the following Oath of Office Viz.t You John Duckett and
You Turbutt Wright Do Severally Swear that you will true Entries
make of all such Matters and things as shall be to you Directed by
any Committee of the Lower House of Assembly for whom you
shall Act as Clerk and that you will not Divulge the Secrets of the
said House of Assembly or of any Committee thereof but will in

all things well and truly demean yourself According to the best of

your knowledge

The House Adjourns till the Morrow morning at 9 of the Clock

Sept. 25

Wednesday 25.th Sept:r 1765
The House met According to Adjournment &c.a
Samuel Wilson Esq.r and M.r William Winder Delegates returned
for Somerset County and Col.o Henry Travers a Delegate returned
for Dorchester County Appeared in the House Ordered that M.r
Sulivane and M.r William Adams do go with those Gentlemen to the
Upper House to see them qualified they return and Acquaint M.r
Speaker that the Gentlemen were qualified in the usual manner by
taking the several Oaths to the Government required by Law by
Subscribing the Oath of Abjuration by repeating and Signing the
Test
The Gentlemen took their Seats in the House
James Hollyday Esq.r from the Committee Appointed to Draw
up Instruction to the Committee who are to Attend at New York
and report the same to the House delivers to M.r Speaker the follow-
ing Report Viz:t
By the Committee Appointed by the Honourable House to Draw
up Instructions for the Gentlemen Appointed a Committee to join the
several Committees from the several Colonies in America at New
