By the Committee appointed by the Hon.ble Lower House of
Assembly to report on the Account of the late & present Clerk of the
Council and also to make an Estimate of the Moneys received from
this Province under Colour of Law for Support of Government and
how those Monies are applied

Your Committee have inspected the said Account amount-


ing in the whole to 102,743lb of Tobo and find that the


same is partly constituted of Charges for two hundred
and four Inspectors Commissions (that Number being

30,600

by the Account supposed though not asserted to have


been Issued) at 150.lb Tobo each.....................

And that the Residue of that Account are Charges for

Proclamations and the Acts of his Lordships Council

many of which are and all for any Thing your Com-

mittee know may be on Subjects of a Public Nature but

your Committee can discover no Act of Assembly that

expressly or implicitly enjoined a Duty on the Clerk of


the Council respecting any of them ..................


Your Committee Remark that by the Inspection Law §41 It is
Enacted that the several resptive Vestrymen and Church Wardens
in all Cases shall forthwith transmit Certificates of such Nomination
and Recommendation to the Sheriff of the said County who shall
forthwith transmit the Same to the Clerk of the Council for the
Time being to be by him laid before the Governor or Commander
in Chief for the Time being out of which said four or two Persons
to be nominated and recommended for Inspector or Inspectors the
Gov/ or Commander in Chief shall and may appoint by Warrant
under his Hand two persons out of the Four or One person out of the
two &c and report that the Warrants to the Inspectors contain Each
nearly two Sides of 105 Words to a Side Printed Blanks of which
