And the following Report Viz
To The Honourable Upper House of Assembly
We the Subscribers being appointed a Committee by the Hon.ble
House to examine the proceedings of the Council and to compare
the Charges in the Clerk of the Councils Account presented in pursu-
ance of the Order of this Hon.ble House with the said Proceedings
and to report to the said House what should appear to them in their
Enquiry & Examination Do Report to this Hon.ble House that they
have carefully examined the said Proceedings and compared there-
with the Charges contained in the said Clerks Account and that it
appears to them that the actual Service done by the said Clerk from
the 10.th of May 1756 in Copying and Recording the proceedings
of the said Council or Matters of a public Nature relative to the
executive Powers of this Government charging nine Pounds of
Tobocco p Side containing 105 Words amounts to a Sum consider-
ably exceeding the Quantity of Tobacco mentioned in the Clerks Ac-
count exclusive of all Charge for Attendance preceding the Meetings
of the Council the Summoning of the Members keeping Officers
Bonds County Levys &c

All which is humbly submitted to this Hon.ble House

And the following Account of the Clerks of the Council drawn
out for Services done by them and charged to the Public from the
Year 1756 to 1765

Council Proceedings from the 10.th May 1756 to the 10:th Nov:r 1764.

be found printed in full on pages 115-150 in the Upper House
journal]

which were read the first Time and being read the Second Time On
Motion
Ord.d that Thomas Johnson Esq.r Col.o Tilghman Thomas Ring-
gold Esq.r J. Hall of Annapolis Esq.r J Hollyday Esq.r William
Murdock Esq.r M.r Graham M.r Hanson and Samuel Chase Esq.r
be appointed a Committee to report on the Acco.ts of the late and
present Clks of the Council and also to make an Estimate of the
Moneys reced from this Province under Colour of Law for Support
of Government and how those Monies are applied
Thomas Ringgold Esq.r brings in and delivers to M.r Speaker the
Lre from this House to Cha.s Garth Esq.r fairly transcribed which
