The Lower House. 151


The Order of the Day being read the House took into Considera-
tion the petition of sundry the Inhitants Freeholders and Free Voters
in the Corporation of the City of Annapolis and referred the Same
Ordered that the said petition be taken into Consideration After
Noon Immediately after the Call of the House

The House adjourns 'till two of the Clock

Post Meridiem
The House met
The Order of the Day being read the House took into Considera-
tion the petition of sundry the Inhitants Freeholders and Free
Voters in the Corporation of the City of Annapolis and after fully
debating and mature Deliberation thereon

The Question was put whether the following Entry Viz
It appearing to this House that Mr Walter Dulany the Sitting
Member was Mayor of the City of Annap.g at the Time of his
Election and qualified as returning Officer under the Statute 2 Geo 2.d
That he sat and continued in the Chair on the Bench during the
Time of the Election and in his Seat did Object to the Qualification

of some of the Voters who offered to vote against him That there
was no Adjournment by Order of the Court which Order was
signified to the proper Officer by Mr Macnemara the Senior Alder-
man And further it appearing to the House that the Sitting Member
is returned by four Aldermen of the said City which Return is not
signed by the Recorder who was absent at the Time of the Election
be entred on the Journal or not.
