L. H. J.

Liber No. 53
Nov. 8

Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly
I herewith send you a Letter that I rec'd from the late Brigadier
General Bouquet when he was on his last Expedition against the
Western Indians who had committed such horrid Barbarities on the
Frontier Inhabitants of these provinces You will see by the Letter
that a Number of Voluntiers from Frederick County whose Names
are mentioned in the Inclosed Muster Roll actuated by a very
laudable Spirit went out under the Command of Capt.n McClellan &
Wolgamot to join the Kings Troops & Assist in reducing the Enemies
of their Country to Reason which you know was happily accom-
plished And as both the Officers and Men behaved in such a Manner
during the Campaign as gave the General great Satisfaction I think
it my Duty to recommend their Services to your Consideration and
hope you will think they merit some Reward from their Country
