I recommend to your serious Consideration and shall be gald to know
what Answer you think it would be proper for me to return him

And the following Letter Viz
22d Oct.r 1765
Sardeine Newcastle River Delaware
Sir

In Consequence of Applications made to me by the respective
Governors of New Jersey and Pennsylvania I have taken the Stamp
papers for these provinces on Board his Majesty's Ship Sardeine
under my Command till a place of Safety could have been provided
for them And understanding there were also some for Maryland

brought by the same Ship (Royal Charlotte) and imagining your
Honour had not the Opportunity of making the same Application
to me I therefore as it related to his Majestys Service And out of
Respect to you have taken them also on Board me and beg your
Directions for the Disposal of them as soon as possible
I am with great Regard

Your most humble and Obedient Servant

The Honourable Sharpe Esq.r Ja.s Hawker

Which were severally read the first Time and Ordered to lye on
the Table
The House adjourns 'till two of the Clock

Post Meridiem
The House met
John Hammond Esq.r Mr Edmondson and Mr Parker Selby ap-
pear'd in the House
Mr Benton Harris a Delegate returned for Worcester County
appeared in the House
Ordered that Mr Selby and M.r William Adams do go with that
Gentleman to the Upper House to see him qualified they return and
acquaint Mr Speaker they saw the Gentleman qualified in the Usual
Manner by taking the several Oaths to the Government required by
Law by subscribing the Oath of Abjuration repeating & signing
the Test
The Gentleman took his Seat in the House
The House adjourns 'till the Morrow Morning at 9 of the Clock
