NATHANIEL WICKHAM
To his Excellency Horatio Sharp Esq.r Governor of Maryland and
To The Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly
The petition of Nath.ll Wickham Sen.r Humbly sheweth
That your petitioner has Been for five years and Eight months a
Languishing prisoner in The Goal of ffredrick County for Debt for
divers Sums of Money and Tobacco which said Debts by Reason of
divers Losses and misfortunes he was before his Confinement unable
to pay and his Still Confinement must Apparently Render Him Less
able yet notwithstanding your petitioner has by the Dictates of his
Conscience made all the Overtures to Satisfy his Credetors that was
in his power to Comply with Even to make over all his Estate Both
Real & personall to Them which They have Rejected and still Do
Reject your petitioner has Bin Gilty of no fradulent or Decetfull
practices in order to Cheat or Defraud his Credetors and Humbly
prays your Excellency and Honours will take your petitioners melen-
coly Situation into your Serious and Charitable Consideration and
Grant him Releaf and your petitioner shall Ever pray
Fredrick County the 20:th Day of June 1761
We the Subscribers of Said County do Certify that the above
petitioner Nathll Wickham is and hath been a prisoner for Debt the
time above mentiond in the Goal of this County & therefore Recom-
mend him to your Excellency & Honors as an Object of Charity

Honourable the Lord Proprietary Justices of the Peace for said
County
