Money & tobacco which Said Debts by Reason of Divers Losses and
misfortunes he was before his Confinement Unable to pay and his Still
Confinement apparently Renders him Less able yet notwithstanding
your petitioner has by the Dictates of his Consience made all ye
overtures to Satisfy his Creditors that was in his power to Comeply
with Even to make over all his affects & Every thing he possest to
them which Still they have Rejected & Do Reject your petitioner
has been gilty of no fraudulent or Deceitfull practices in order to
Cheate or Defraud his Creditors And Humbly prays your Ex-
cellency and Honours will take your petitioners melincholy Situation
into your Serious and Charitable Consideration and grant him Relief
and your petitioner Shall Ever pray
Fredrick County the 20:th Day of June 1761
We the Subscribers of Said County do Certify that the above
Petitioner is and hath been a prisoner for Debt for ye time above
mentioned in the goal of this County and therefore recommend him
to your Excellency and Honours as an object of Charity
