the said Town have built a convenient House on the said Square for
a Market House. But for as much as the said Market is under no
proper Regulation, the said Inhabitants apprehend that the said
Market house may be Rendered very useful to them and the In-
habitants of the said County and the adjacent County and Clan-
destine Cartering and Dealing with servants and Slaves prevented
If the said Market was under proper Regulations.
Therefore they pray that your Excellency will take the premises
under your Consideration and that an Act of Assembly may be
passed for Holding a Market in the said Town at the Market House
upon Wednesdays and Saturdays in every week and for the Regu-
lation of the said Market and so forth, and they will every pray &
so forth
