XXVII. And be it further Enacted, That the said Persons so
to be impowered to Enlist and Raise Men as aforesaid, shall, and
they are hereby enjoined and required to account with the Agents
aforesaid, by the Expiration of three Months from the End of this
Session of Assembly, for all such Monies at the Time of such Ac-
counting, shall be by them expended in the Uses aforesaid, and shall
then deliver unto the said Agents, Receipts from the Men by them
respectively Enlisted, for all such Bounty-Money as they shall claim
Allowance for, on such Accounting, and by the First Day of Decem-
ber next, shall in like Manner account with the said Agents, and
deliver in Receipts as aforesaid, for all such Sums of Money as they
shall then claim Allowance for, on such their Accounting, and the
Remainder of the said Sums then in their Hands respectively, they
shall then pay to the said Agents, to be by them applied to the other
Purposes of this Act, if Occasion be; but the said Agents shall not
allow to any Persons impowered to Enlist and Raise Men as afore-
said, in any such Settlement as aforesaid, for the Bounty-Money for
Enlisting and Raising any Men (unless in Case of Death, or actual
Desertion, to be made appear to the Satisfaction of such Agents)
until he shall produce a Certificate from some Person impowered
by his Excellency the Governor, or Commander in Chief of this

Province, for the Time being that such Man was able-bodied, and
fit for the Service aforesaid, and has past Muster at Some Place,
and before some Person, for that Purpose appointed, nor shall they
allow more than at the Rate of Eight Pounds per Man, for the
whole Number of Men to be Enlisted by any one Person to be
commissioned as aforesaid, and Twenty Shillings per Man, to such
Person as a Reward for Enlisting the said Men.
XXVIII. And whereas by other Letters from the Right Honour-
able the Earl of Egremont, and Sir Jeffery Amherst, his Majesty's
Pleasure has been signified, that this Province should furnish Levy
Money for raising Eighty-four effective Men, for compleating the
Regular Corps serving in America; being therefore desirous to com-
ply with this Royal Requisition, it is humbly prayed that it may be
Enacted; And be it Enacted by the Authority, Advice, and Consent
aforesaid, That a Sum not exceeding Seven Hundred and Fifty-six
Pounds, shall be, and is hereby appropriated to the Raising Eighty-
four effective Men, for the Purpose aforesaid, and the Commission-
ers or Trustees afurcsaid, are hereby required to deliver out the said
Sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Persons herein
appointed to call for and receive the same.
XXIX. And in Order to encourage good and effective Men to
enter into the Service aforesaid, Be it further Enacted, That there
shall be paid to each able-bodied Man, not under the Age of Eighteen,
nor above the Age of Forty Years, who shall be received by the
Officer, or Person, who shall be properly authorised to receive the
