Publick Assessment
Your Committee also find that by the report in April session 1758
there remained due to the Office by the Act of Purchasing Pro-
visions for His Majestys Forces for the Expedition against Canada
£147..12..7 3/4 since which time to the 30.th of August 1758 there
has been paid in by Several Sheriffs for Ordinary Licences the Sum
of £282.. 5.. 8 and that agreeable to the Act for his Majestys Service
past in July 1754 the Ballance of £134.. 12...11 1/4 is passed to the
Credit of the Account of the said Act as by the following state
appears

for the Canada Expedition
By Money paid by Sundry Sheriffs for Ordinary
Licences to August the 30.th 1758.......... £282.. 5.. 8
Your Committee farther find that by the Report in April 1758
there remained due to the Office by the Act for His Majesty's
Service passed in July 1754 the Sum of £2055..7..9| since which
time to the 22.d October 1760 by Virtue of the Said Act there has
been paid into the Office Ordinary Licences the Duty on Servants
Madeira Wine Wheel Carriages Pedlers Licences and the Addi-
tional Duty on Negroes, together with the surplus arising on the
Act for issuing and taken Out of the Office of the Commissioners
or Trustees appointed for emitting Bills of Credit established by Act
of Assembly, The Sum of Four thousand five hundred Pounds,
Current Money, for Encouragement of such able Bodied Freemen
as shall Voluntarily enlist themselves into His Majestys Service
for the intended Expedition against Canada, and for Maintaining
and Conveying them to the place of Rendezvous; as also for re-
placing of the said Sum, and for the Better regulating of Ordinaries
and Ordinary Keepers and for other purposes therein Mentioned
Passed in 1746 the Sum of £4222...4..11 3/4 if that by the Said Act of
1754 The Sum of £900 Then in the Hands of the Treasurer of the
Western Shore and the Sum of £1099.. 12..0 then in the Hands of
the Treasurer of the Eastern shore were applied to the purposes of
the Said Act and that after replacing the Said Sums of £2055...7..91
