Whereas, it is represented to this General Assembly by a Letter
from Sir Jeffry Amherst to his Excellency the Governor and by
him Communicated to this Present General Assembly that the carry-
ing on a Trade or commerce with our Indian Enemies is of the most
Dangerous and Pernicious Consequence and tends to Protract the
Hostilities and incursions of those Barbarians
For Remedy thereof be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the
Lord Proprietary by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lord-
ships Governor and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly
and the Authority of the same That from and after the first day of
November next it shall not be lawfull for any Person or Persons

Whatsoever to trade or Traffick With any enemy Indian or Indians
for any Goods, Wares, Commodities, or Merchandizes, whatsoever
or to carry or Transport any Goods, Wares, Commodities, or Mer-
chandizes, with intent to Trade or Traffick with any such Indian or
Indians under the Penalty of five hundred Pounds Current Money
for every Offence to him or them, who will sue for the same to be
recovered in any Court of Record within this Province by Action of
Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information wherein no Essoin Protection or
Wager of Law shall be Allowed, And if any Person or Persons
