Richard Lee Esq:r Brings the following Report
By the Committee Appointed to Inspect the Publick Buildings
in the City of Annapolis
Your Committee having Inspected the Publick Buildings in the
City of Annapolis do find the same as follows to wit
That the Commissarys Office wants Plaistering which we conceive
is occasioned by the rain Waters driving in at the windows of the
upper Story and Coming down thro the floor and by the rain that
is drove thro the Arch over the front Dore of the Court House, &
also that the said Office wants divisions in the shelves to prevent the
Books from pressing upon each other that the Chancery Office wants
Glazing and Plaistering that the Provincial Office wants the same
That the Council Office wants the same and the Partition wants
Nailing & that the floor of the said Office is out of Repair That the
Cupula wants a Door and to be boarded on one side and a new Flagg
Staff. That the Corporation Office wants Plaistering and Glazing,

That the Jury Rooms Want the same, That the steps that lead up
to the Offices are much out of repair, That the back entry of the
Court House wants Plaistering and flooring and that the Plat form
around the Back door of the Courthouse is out of repair and that
the Court House Doors Frames and sills both in the front and Back
are much out of Repair
That the Wall all around the Parade is in aruinous Condition,
That the Repository for the Old records wants covering, that the
Outside corner of the Conference Chamber wants repair, That the
paved Channell that Conveys the water from the Council Chamber
is out of repair That a corner of the Paper Currency Office wants
repair, The roofs of the rooms over the Conference and Council
Chambers want Repairing and large boards and the windons Glazing
That the Conference Chamber wants Glazing and Plaistering and
one of the Closets of the said Chamber wants window Shutters,
That the Council Chamber wants Several new planks in the Floor
and the Casing of the Pillars of the outward doors wants repairing,
That the Court House wants Glazing and Pointing in many Places
and some repairs in the Foundation, Your Committee begs leave
to report further that the Commissarys Secretary and Land Offices
are much too small for the regular disposition of the Books and
Papers belonging to those Offices and for the Convenient carrying
on of the Business in the same Offices all which is Humbly Submitted
to the Consideration of Your Honourable House
