Court. (Indd) By the Upper house of assembly 31.st Oct.r 1763, the
Ingrossed Bill whereof this is the Original is read & assented to
Signed p Order J. Ross, Cl. Up. ho.

Benedict Calvert & Stephen Bordley Esq.rs from the Upper house
acquaint Mr Speaker that the Governor requires the Attendance of
the Lower house immediately in the Council Chamber
Mr Speaker left the Chair, and (with the Other Members of the
Lower house) went to the Upper house, and presented to his Ex-
cellency, And Ingrossed Bill Ent.d An Act for the Adjournment of
Baltimore County Court; which his Excellency passed into a Law in
the usual manner
Mr Speaker (with the rest of the Members) returned to the Lower
House and resumed the Chair.
The Order of the day being Read, the house took into consideration
the petition of Many Inhabitants near Elk ridge Landing in Ann.le
County praying to have a Town erected there and on Motion the
Question was put whether it was expedient to erect a Town at Elk
ridge Landing or not Resolved in the Affirmative
On Motion Ordered that the petition of many Inhabitants of Elk
ridge Landing, be referred for further consideration on the Morrow
Morning immediately after the Call of the house
The house Adjourns till the Morrow Morning at 9, of the Clock

Tuesday Morning 1,st Nov,r 1763

The house met according to Adjournment, the Members were
called and all appeared as yesterday, the proceedings were Read
Col,o Loyd and Major Hynson appeared in the house
The Order of the day being Read the house took into Consideration
the petition of many the Inhabitants near Elk Ridge Landing on Ann.l
County, and Ordered that the said petition be granted and leave given
to bring in a Bill according to prayer.
Ordered that Mr J. Hall Mr Tilghman Col.o Tilghman Mr Johnson
Mr Murdock Mr Key Mr Bealle & Mr Worthington do prepare & bring
in a Bill accordingly.

The petition of the Rector Vestrymen Church Wardens and In-
habitants of Port Tobacco parish praying to have leave to bring in a
Bill to levy on the Taxable Inhabitants of the said parish an additional
quantity of 2,lb of Tob.o p poll for the Support of an Organist was
read & Rejected
The petition of the Rector Church Wardens Vestrymen and Others
of St Johns parish in Prince Georges and Charles Countys praying to
levy on the taxable Inhabitants at two equal assessments 350.lb Current
money to make an enlargem.th of their parish Church was Read and
leave given to bring in a Bill according to prayer,
