presents to his Excellency their Address which follows in these
words
To his Excellency Horatio Sharpe Esq.r Governor & Commander
in Chief in and over the Province of Maryland
The Humble Address of the Upper House of Assembly
May it please your Excellency
Sensible that the Kings Orders for compleating his Regular
Regiments on this Continent in the manner signified by the Letters
you were pleased on the 30.th March last to communicate to Us are
calculated for the Security ,& advantage of these Colonies & thankfull
for the many Instances We have experienced of our most gracious
Sovereign's provident Care & particular Attention to the Interests of
his Subjects in North America We beg leave to assure your Ex-
cellency that our Readiness to perform what those Letters require is
equal to your Excellency's Expectations or wishes We are on our
parts very desirous that a sufficient Sum of Money be immediately
appropriated to the purpose of raising the Number of Recruits
demanded as the quota of this province & to have it in our power
to give His Majesty the most convincing proofs of our attachment &
Gratitude to him will afford the Members of this House the highest
Satisfaction
