by their humble Petition to this General Assembly, set forth, That
their Chapel of Ease in Annimassex is so decayed, that it is dangerous
to attend Divine Service therein, and that their Chapel of Ease on
Dividing Creek in Worcester County, is too small, to accommodate
the Parishioners in a decent Manner, and that it was necessary to
purchase, for the Use of the said Parish, a Quantity of Land not

exceeding Two Acres, lying between the Head of Coulbourn's
Creek and Annimassex Dams, in the said Parish, and to Erect and
Build a Chapel thereon, and to enlarge the Chapel of Ease in the
said Parish on Dividing Creek in Worcester County; and have
humbly prayed that an Act may pass, that Sixty-two Thousand Four
Hundred Pounds of Tobacco may be levied upon the Taxable
Persons of the said Parish, for these Purposes, by Three equal
Assessments :

Be it therefore Enacted, by the Right Honourable the Lord
Proprietary, by and with the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's
Governor, and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly, and
the Authority of the same, That the Vestry and Church-wardens
of Coventry Parish aforesaid, which lies partly in Somerset and
Worcester Counties aforesaid, for the Time being, or the major
Part of them, be and are hereby authorized, impbwered, and re-
quired, to purchase in Fee, in the Name of the Rector, Vestry-men,
and Church-wardens, of the said Parish, for the Time being, Two
Acres of Land, lying in Somerset County, in the Parish aforesaid,
at some Place between the Head of Coulbourn's Creek and Anni-
massex Dams, and to treat and agree with such Person or Persons
as they, or the major Part of them, shall think proper to employ,
to Build a Chapel of Ease thereon, for the Use of the Inhabitants
of the said Parish; which said Land, when so purchased, and the
said Chapel so Built, shall be and is hereby declared to be consti-
tuted and deemed the Land and Chapel of Ease of the said Parish,
and the said Chapel forever hereafter shall be supported and repaired
at the Charge of the said Parish.

And be it further Enacted, by the Authority, Advice and Consent
aforesaid, That it shall and may be lawful for the Vestry-men and
Church-wardens of the Parish aforesaid, or the major Part of
them, and they are hereby authorized and impowered to treat and
agree with any Person or Persons, that they or the major Part of
them, shall or may think capable to enlarge the Chapel of Ease
situate on Dividing Creek aforesaid, in the said Parish.

And be it further Enacted, by the Authority, Advice, and Consent
aforesaid, That the Justices of Somerset and Worcester County
Courts, for the Time being, shall, and they are hereby authorized
and impowered to assess and levy on the Taxable Inhabitants of the
said Parish, the Quantity of Sixty-two Thousand Four Hundred
