On Motion, Leave was given, to bring in a Bill for repairing
and maintaining the Public Roads in Baltimore County, at the
Expence of that County;
And Ordered, That Mr. Lee, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Dorsey, do
prepare and bring in the same.
M.r Smallwood brings in and delivers to M.r Speaker the follow-
ing Report —
By the Committee appointed by the honourable the House of
Delegates to inspect into the State and Condition of the Arms and
Ammunition, and Amounts relating thereto. April 13,th 1762.
Your Committee having inspected the Arms and Ammunitions in
the City of Annapolis do find that there is in the possession of the
Armourer the following Arms and Ammunition vizt.
In the Council Chamber
200 Muskets in good Order, 30 Trumpets, 70 Broad Swords, 2
Drums, 42 Halberts and Pikes, 50 Sword Blades and 16 Daggers,
59 Buff Belts.
Over above the Conference Chamber
85 black hiked swords, 38 bright ditto. 35 Pistols one new Drum
and one old ditto. 87 Buff Belts. 200 new Bayonets with Cartouch
Boxes and Bullet Moulds, 29 old Bayonets, 86 Firslocks, short
Muskets and Carbines. 18 Cartouch Boxes, 10 old Slings, 8 hair
Pouches and Powder Horns. 104 old Muskets most of which without
Locks and not worth repairing, 9 Pistols the Locks broke and out of
Order. 10 old Muskets, and 15 old Carbines. 4 pair of Holsters.
6 Broken Drums, 3 Chests of Matches, 30 blue Cases for Musketts,
10 listed ditto for Carbines.
Above the Council Chamber
20 Muskets without locks. 13 Carbines without ditto. 5 new
Espontoons. 1 new Halbert broke. 15 pr. Drum Sticks, n new
Carbine Slings. 7 new Cartouch Boxes. 9 old Belts for Muskets.
