Mr. James Tilghman appears in the House.

On Motion, Leave was given, to bring in a Bill to enable Mary
Stansbury, Widow of Tobias Stansbury, late of Baltimore County,
deceased, to sell the Lands therein mentioned.
Benedict Calvert, Esq; from the Upper House, delivers to Mr.
Speaker, the Petition of James Hollyday; thus Indorsed, By the
Upper House of Assembly, 5th April, 1762. Read and Referred
to the Consideration of the Lower House of Assembly:

Which was Read the first Time, and the House concurs therewith.
And Ordered, That Mr. J. Tilghman, Mr. Ringgold, and Mr.

Johnson, do prepare and bring in a Rill accordingly

The Petition of sundry Inhabitants of the Province of Maryland,
was Read the first Time, and Ordered to lie on the Table.

John Ridout, Esq; from the Upper House, delivers to Mr. Speaker,
the Petition of the Rector, Vestrymen, and Church-Wardens of
St. James's Parish, in Anne-Arundel County; thus Indorsed, By the
Upper House of Assembly, 6th April, 1762. Read and Referred
to the Consideration of the Lower House of Assembly:

Which said Petition was here Read, and Ordered to lie on the
Table.
The House adjourns till the Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock.

April 7

Wednesday, April 7, 1762.

The House met according to Adjournment: The Members were
called, and all appeared as Yesterday, except Mr. Benjamin Mackall.
The Proceedings were Read.

p. 36

The House proceeds to the Reading the Bill for granting a Supply
of Forty-five Thousand Pounds for his Majesty's Servcie, &c. but
for want of Time to read it throughout, consonant to the Rules
of Sitting,

The House adjourns till 2 of the Clock.
Post-Meridiem. The House met according to Adjournment.
The House proceeds to the Reading the Bill for granting a Supply
of Forty-five Thousand Pounds for his Majesty's Service, and for
defraying the Expences heretofore incurred for the Defence and
Security of the frontier Inhabitants of this Province, and for other
Purposes therein mentioned, and for raising the same by an equal
assessment on all Estates real and personal within this Province
and lucrative Offices and Employments but for Want of Time to
read it throughout, consonant to the Rules of Sitting,
The House adjourns till the Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock.
