       Somerset County Court Proceedings, 1665—1668.     643

  chilld &c The Court being likewise informed tht the chilid & the Liber B No. 1
  Mother of the said chilld laye dangerous sick, Itt was ordered by
  the Court & desired That mr John Winder shoulid goe to Susanna
  Brayfeeld for to take her tesstimony whose the chillds Father is &
  to see whether the chilld be in want, if soe then to take care for
  the pvideing a Nurse for the chilld

   This daye being the 25th of September 1666 were sworne Con
  stables in open Courte for the County of Sommersett in the pvince of
  Maryland
   John Hillyard Constable for Pocomoke & Marumsco
   Robert Hart Constable for Anamessick
   James Came Constable for Manonoakin
   Nicolas Rice Constable for the Mannyes & Wiccocomoco

  Att A Court helld the 25th september 1666 for the Countie of [p. 351
          Sommersett in the province of Maryland
                        Present
        Mr William Stevensmr John Winder
        Capt: William Thorne    mr Henry Boston
        mr James Jonesmr George Johnson

   Whereas John Rhodes petitioned the Court tht there was tobacco
  due to him from Mary Barnebe the relict of James Barnebe, Patricke
  Fleming appeared as attourney For Mary Barnebe & prayed a non
  sute according to Lawe by reason Mary Barnebe had not as yett ad
  ministred thereupon A non sute was granted agst the playntiff John
  Rhodes

  Att A Court helld the 25th September 1666 for the County of
        Sommersett in the province of Maryland

                        Present
        Mr William Stevens mr John Winder
        Capt: William Thorne    mr Henry Boston
        mr James Jones     mr George Johnson

   Whereas John Rhodes petitioned the Court & made appeare that
  there was tobacco due to him from Charles Hall thereupon the Court
  doth order that Charles Hall shall pay unto the said John Rhodes
  one thousand pounds of tobacco & Caske

   upon the petition of Edward Southrne agst his man Samuell Benton
  the Court woulid grante hym no order untill such time Samuell Ben-
  ton appeared in Court

   Knowe all Men by these prsence tht I Gideon Tillman of little
  Manny on the eastearne shore in Maryland haue bargained & soulld
