his Lordps proffitts in all things tht belongs unto you by way off Liber B No.
office as Farre Forth as you Canne or may you shall truly & right
fully treat the people of yor Sherriffwick & doe right to the poore as
well as to the ritch in all tht belong to yor office you shall doe noe
wrong to any Man for any guift fauour hate or other affection you
shall duely execute soe farre as you maye all such writts & warrants
as shall be to you directed by Lawfull authority and thereof you shall
make a true returne according to the tenor of the Writt

Theis are to will & require you tht by the tenth daye of octobr [p.24]
Next you Cause a List to be taken of all the tithables within yor
County & in the said List the Name & surname of each tithable per
son & the house of his abode be distincly sett downe & A Copy thereof
fayre written & sent Imediately up to the Governor & Councell: And
another Copy of the said List sett up att yor Court house att yor
next County Court to remayne there for the whole yeare to the end
tht if any error be therein, they may be Corrected & the same Certi
fied to the Governor & Councell before the next provinciall Court
being to be helid on the 16th day of october next ensueing herein fayle
not as you will answer the Contrary and for soe doeing this shall be
yor warrant Given under my hand & scale this 22th day of August A°

By vertue of a Comission & Instructions to me directed From
Caecilius absolute Lord & Proprietary of the Province of Maryland
Lord Baron of Baltemore &c undr his Lordps hand & scale att armes
bearing date the 16th day of February in the 34 yeare of his Lord-
ships dominion over the said pvince I Doe by these prsence Consti
tute & appoynte you Stephen Horsey of Somersett County gent: to be
one of the Deputy surveyors for this province to Jerome White
Esqr surveyor Generall of all & singuler his Lops Mannors Forrests
Chases Parks Messuages tenemts Lands woods rents revenues pos
sessions & hereditamts whatsoever within the said province To Haue
& to Hould enioy & exercise the aforesaid office of deputy surveyor
during his Lordships pleasure with such Fees & allowances as are
used & allowed to the said office of a Deputy surveyor wthin the
said province Given undr my hand & scale this day of July in
the 35th yeare of his Lordps Dominion over the sd province A° D°
