      Liber B No. 1   or answer therefore to be given to mee or any in my name; & I the
               said William Whittfeeld unto the abouesd Francis Betts the said
               shoote shall warrant & defend by these prsents In Wittnesse whereof
               I haue hereunto sett my hand & seale this eight day of August in
               the year of or Lord god one thousand six hundred sixty & six:

                Randall Revell entreth his Caveat against the estate of George
               Read supposed to be drowned this 4th August 1666 & desireth tht no
               letter of administration may be taken out untill a hearing in Courte

                   August the 11th 1666
                Peter Elzey entreth his action of the case agst Charles Ballard

          [p.23] A list of rights belonging to Randall Revell of Manonoakin on
               the eastearne shore in the province of Maryland vizt William John
               son Allen Nowr & Anne Follingtaine; These rights are in Comon
               Forme sworne before us this 16th August 1666   William Thorne
               recorded the 16th Augst 1666   John Winder

                Caecilius Absolute Lord & Proprietary of the Province of Mary
               land & Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c Knowe Yee That wee
               reposeing speciall Confidence & trust in you Stephen Horsey gent
               haue Constituted ordained & appointed & doe by these prsence Consti
               tute ordayne & appoynte you sherriffe of the County off Somersett
               & to haue such priveledges & benefitts as any other within this or
               province of Maryland now hath or any othr sheriffe of yor said
               County ever haue had helld or enjoyed or of right ought ought to
               haue had helld or enioyed To Haue & to Holld the said office or
               Imploymt for one whole year to be Computed from the date hereof &
               after till anothr sherriff by us or our Leiutenant or chiefe Governr for
               the time being shall be lawfully by pattent Constituted Provided tht
               the said Stephen Horsey doe in open Court in his said County take
               the oath of sherriffe hereunto Annexed & giue security for the well
               discharging of his office & trust according to the Act of Assembly
               in tht Case provided Given att St Maryes undr our Lesser seale of or
               said province the two & twentieth day of August in the flue & thirtyth
               year of our Dominion over the said province of Maryland Anno
               Domini 1666 Wittnes our dear sonne Charles Calvert Esqr or Leiutent
               Generall & Chiefe Governor of our said province of Maryland
