      Liber B No. 1    donne in the prrmises by these presents in wittnes whereof I haue
               hereunto putt my hand & seale dated the twenty seaventh day of
               september in the seventeenth year of the raigne of or soveraigne Lord
               Charles the 2d by the grace of god Kinge of England &c 1665

          [p. 10] Knowe All men by these prsents tht I William Derricke of the
               Citty of Bristoll shipwright haue Constituted & appointed & in my
               place & stead putt Edward Martindale of the same Citty marchant
               to be my true & Law full attourney For me in my name & to my use
               to aske Leavy recover & receiue of & from James Jolley att the
               eastearne shore in the province of Maryland plantor all & every such
               sume & sumes of Money debts goods wares marchandices dues &
               demands whatsoever wch are due oweing or belonging to or from me
               are Detained by the said James Jolley for any matter or cause upon
               any Contracke or by any wayes or meanes whatsoever whether the
               same be due by bill bond speciality booke store accompt or other
               wise giving & hereby granting to my said attourney full power good
               right & Lawfull authority in the prmises the said James Jolly his
               executors & admrs & he & their goods & Chattles to sue arrest attach
               declare implead imprison & out of prison to deliuer letters of acquit
               tances & other sufficient discharges in my name to make seale & exe
               cute Attourneyes one or more under him to sett & substitute & the
               same att his pleasure to revoke & Further to make Composition &
               generally to doe And execute all & every act & Acts thinge & things
               Whatsoever requesitt to be done in relation to the prmises & tht as
               amply & efectually in every respect as I my self e might doe the same
               if I were personally prsent Rattifleing & allowing all & whatsoever my
               said Attourney shall doe or cause to be donne in the premises by these
