352Kent County Court Proceedings, 1675-1676.







           Liber C Whearea mr disboro Bennett one of the Coma of ths Court came
               into Court ths day & Complained agst william dowland for tht he the
               sd Dowland came to mr Bennetts house, & abused him in a very un
               seemly mannr
                Wheareas it is ordered by the Court tht the shirriff of the County
               doe take willim dowland into his Custody & him to secure untill
               he finde sufficient security such as the Court shall approue of for
               his Good bahavior to be bound wth him dewring the Courts pleasure,
               & the dowland to make his Appearance at every Court or in def alt
               of his good behavior to forfeit & pay twenty pounds ster to the lord
               propt
                William Joyner became bound for William Dowland in tenn
               pounds ster to be pd to the Lord Propr in Case of a breach of his Good
               behavior
                William Dowland fined one hundred pounds of Tobb for being
               drunke.

                Cornelius Comegys Junir recordeth his mark a swallow fork on
               each care & a nick taken of the upper side of both the eares & at the
               Lower side of the Fares

               Court did not appeare nor any Attorny for him the plt Attorny hath
               made his debt appeare in open Court to be Two thousand nine hun
               dred twenty five poundes of Tobb This Court doth order tht Attachmt
               shall issue agst the debts Goods & Chattles of the Currer for the
               above sd debt & Costes of sute/
