Kent County Court Proceedings, 1648-1656.29 giue Hance Hansonn my oldest sonne unto Joseph Weeckes, who Liber A doth by theese prsents acknowledge a free acceptance of him, And doth faithfuly pmis and bind himselfe to tacke care and puide for him all such thinges as shall bee any wayes Conuenient and nessessarie for his maintenance and breedinge as alsoe to beestow such Educa tion and learninge upon him as reedinge in the English tounge writeinge of a good legable hand and castinge of Accoumpt in foure seuerall rules of Arethmaticke as the aforesayd Hance Hanson shall bee any wayes capable to learne, which learninge is to bee made good unto him duringe his abode and continuanc with the sayd Weeckes In Consideration of the aforesayd Weeckes his freindly or other- [fol. 101] wayes fatherly care Charge and Education of the sayd Hance Hanson 7 m 1655 hee is to continue and remaine with him to bee wholy at his dis posinge when or whearesoeuer or about what lawfull imploymt soeuer either by [ I aforesayd Weecks his ExecutTB or Assignes shall [ ] the day of this prsent date untill hee shall bee twenty one yeares of agge which beeinge at prsent nine yeares of agge; And unto which agreemt I the aforesayd Joseph Wickes and Annicak Hanson in the behalfe of Hance my sonne doth firmly by theese prsents bynd him with the sayd Wickes to pform as wittnes cf handes and seales this of Septembt 1655 Signed sealed and deliued The marke of in the prsents of Annicak X Hanson Q Tho: Hill Clar of Kent The marke of Isa lliue Hance X Hanson The marke of John Salter August the 7th 1655 Artickles of agreement had made and Concluded uppon by and beetweene Thomas Hill on the one ptie and Marke Benton on the other ptie as followeth Item. That whearas the sayd Thomas Hill hath bargained and sould to the sd Marke Benton a femall yearlinge which was the Calfe of a Cow caled melinos the sayd Calfe beeinge Coulered blacke and a little brounish the left eare Cropt and underkeeld and the Right eare slitt in the midle For and in Consideration of three hundred poundes of tobacc° already in hand Receiued The sd Thomas Hill doth thearefore warrant the sall of the sd beast to the sd Marke his hers Exers Adm~ and Assignes foreuer against all psons Clem inge from or under him any Right theareto that hee or they shall peaceably enioy her and her increase as hearein heareafter is exprest Item That the sd beast shall remaine in the keepinge and Custodie of the sd Thomas Hill his heirS Exe Adm or Assi~ to make use of her and to usse her as his owne from the date heareof For & duringe the wholl terme & tyme of seauen yeares |
