John Cownsey Clk Know all men by these prsents tht I John Raby of the Isle of Kent Planter doe binde my self e my heines Execrs & Adminrs to pay or cause to be payd, unto John Salter both of the Isle of Kent Plantt to him his heires Execrs Adminrsor Assignes in the full some of two Thousand Pounds of sound Mrchantable Tob wthout ground leues in Caske the tenth of Noueth 1659, & to the true pfonmance hereof I doe binde ouer unto the sd Salter his heires & Assignes, all my Cropp of Tob, wch I shall plant on make this next ensuinge yeare, And one Blacke Cow by name blacke nann mankt wth a Cropp on the left eane & underkeeld, & ouer Keeld on the Right wth sd Cropp & Cow I fully make & binde ouen unto the sd Salter wth the Cows in crease wch shall not be disposed of, untill the said Salter be fully satisfied & Contented the aboue sd some of two Thousand Pounds of Tob & Caske as afore sd In witnesse hereof I haue here unto set my hand this 20th of Nou 1658 John R Raby Test John Cowrsey his manke Gre: Mureil his manke This bond was Acknowledged in open Count the 15th Dec. 1658 Test me John Cowrsey Clk. Couenanted Conditioned & Agreed in and betwixt John Salter of the one pty & John Raby both of the Isle of Kent on the other pty witneseth tht the sd John Salter shall finde & allow unto the sd John Raby suffitient ground to plant upon for Corne & Tob for this en suinge yeane as allsoe howsinge for the sd Cropp & to plant together for an equall share in proportion, & that the sd Salter shall finde & allow unto the sd Raby meat drinke & Lodginge from the day of the date here of untill this time tweluemoneth In consideracon where of the sd Raby shall helpe to make such Fenceinge as shall be needfull aboute the Plantation called Beuer necke & to beate Corne for bread |
