The Plant moueth for Certaine Cattle in the hands of Charles Liber B
Stuard wch ware mayd ouer by mt Tho: Ward Decedent to mT Hen
Morgan, in the behalfe of the Orphant Tabytha Short but now
the wife of the sd Stuard.
The Court not findeinge cause of any relief For the Plantiue
herein, doth therefore order the Plant to pay Cost of suit Else
Execucon.
Mt John Cowrsey Moueth this Court As Atturny of wilt Boreman
Against John Deere, & hath pduced a Bill of the sd Deeres, for six
hundred & six pounds of Tob & Caske John Deere beinge there
prsent Confesseth the debt.
The Court doth therefore order tht the sd Deere shall pay the Debt
in pickt & Culld Tob. wth the Charges, Else Excn.
Nicolas Pickard & Mary Baxter hath moued this Court, to hauc
George Crouch, The sonn of Geo: Crouch decedent, Lefte in the Cus
tody of Nico: Pickard aforesd.
The Courte doth therefore order, By & with the Concent of the
said Nicolas Pickard & Mary Baxter, That the sd Geo: Crouch bee
& Remaine in the Custody of the sd Pickard & that all the Childes
Cattle shall remaine Nico: Pickard, And hee to haue the half e
of the Male increase From this time Forward, For Keepinge the sd
Child, & putinge him to scoole & Furnishinge the Childe wth other
Nescessaries soe longe till just occation be mayd Appeare as Law
povides For Orphants in such Cases

Henry Canine beinge demanded to subscribe the Engagement,
Accordinge to Condicons of surrendering the Gouernmt & the Acts of
Assembly puideinge in that behalfe, Makes this Answar That in
Concience hee cannot bee Aidinge and Assistinge, neither can hee
Aide & Assiste neither can he Oppose. The Gouernmt hee owneth,
& will pay all Lawfull Taxes, tht shall be Demanded of him

A Proclamation By the Gouernour & Leiutent of Mariland
Whereas upon the surrender of the Gouernmt to me his Lops Leiu
tenant on the 24th of March last, amongst other thinges, It was then
agreed tht the oath of Fidellity should not be pressed upon the Inhabi
tants then resideinge wthin this Prouince, But tht in place & stead
