124 Kent County Court Proceedings, 1656-1662.

      Liber B John Salter complaineth Agst John Raby in an action of debt
              of three hunderd fifty & three pounds of tobacco & Caske warnt
              issud
                the plantiue haueing proued the debt by bill the Court doth there
              fore order that the Raby shall not depart out of the shrife hands
              vntill his debt be satisfied

                It is orderd by this court that John Winchester shall bring his
              security to Enter into bond for the pforrnansce of his place in the
              office of a shrife, Vpon wensday next before Capt Wickes

                John Jenkins complaineth Agst Elisabeth Ward the wife of Tho
              Ward in an action of debt of fifty nine pounds of tobacco & Caske
              & for this he bringeth his suite Warnt Isued
                The defendant haueing acknowledged the debt the Court doth
              therefore order that the defendant shall make prsent payment of fifty
              nine pounds of tobacco & Caske vnto the plantiue with court Charges
              Else Exce:

                Rich Blunt the asigne of Antony Calaway, by petition Complaines
              that Robt Gaimer was indepted by bill the sum of twelfe [blank]
              & fifty pounds of tobacco as did Apeare to the Court for wch the
              Court did grant order Vnto the sd Blunt of the aforesd sum for
              payment of the sd debt but the Sd Callaway being debtr Vnto the
              Sd Blunt but nine hunderd & twenty th of tobacco: & the sd Blunt
              haueing made sesor by way of Exc: for the full sum of twelfe
              hunderd & fifty Jib of tobacco as aforesd & haue not returned nor made
              payment Vnto the Calaway of the ouerplus being three hunderd
              & thirty ft of tob: & likewise refuseth payment being sued by the
              sd Calaway for the sd debt of 330th of tobacc as foresd
                The Court doth therefore order that the defendant shall make
              presant payment vnto the plantiue of thre hunderd & thirty pounds
              of tobacco & Caske with court charges Elce Exc:
          Record This Indenture made the thirtieth of October 1657 Betwene Capt
        the first of Janu 1657 Robt Vaughan on the one party, & Margrett Anderson on the other
              party Wittnesseth that the sd Margrett Anderson doth hereby Coue
              nant promise & grant wth the Consent of her father & Mother, to &
              with the sd Capt Robt Vaughan his Excecutrs and Asignes from the
              day of the date hereof, vntill the first of January in the yeare of the
              Ld 1661 to serue in such seruice & Imployment as he the sd Capt
              Robt Vaughan or his Assignes shall Imploy her According to the
              Custome of the Country in the like kinde, in Consideration whereof
              the Said Capt Robt Vaughan doth hereby Couenant promise & grant
              to and with the said Margrett Anderson to deliuer or Cause to be
              deliuerd to her father in Law Andrew Elinor for her Vse one good
