had his hand upon Mr Bradnox shirt Coller & he him by the hair & they
cried to one another to let each other goc & much adoe J ohn Gibson
& yor depnt parted them & Mr Bradnox caled John Salter rogue &
he had lame with his wife & the sd salter replied it was noe more then
the sd Mr Bradnox had done to his & Salter said that his owne wife
was Mr Bradnox whore & he would proue it & further deposeth not

The deposition of Rich: Smith aged 40 yeares or thear abouts
taken the 19th of Octob: 1657 sworne Exa: saith
That upon Saturday being the 17th of this Instant month com
ming in from worke the maid caled out & sd if some body did not
come in her Maister would be murdered & yor depnt goeing in the sd
Salter had Mr Bradnox by the throat the teares run downe his
cheeckes & yor depnt tacking Mt Bradnox part the Sd Salter strooke
yor depnt ouer the head with a caine & swore gods wownds & bloud
if yor Depnt would not keepe away he would stab him with a knife

The depossition of Tho: Dickes aged 21 yeares or there abouts
taken the 19th of October 1657 sworne Exa: saith
That upon Saturday being the 17th of this instant month yor depnt
being at the spring watering the horses heard a great noise in the
house, the Irish man comming after yor depnt sd what is the matter
the Irishman replied againe & sd that he thought Salter had broken
downe the doore to goe in; yor depnt makeing haste to goe up againe
from the springe with a horse & a mare in my hand & there mett the
child crying & said to yor depnt goe in for they are together by the eares
yor depnt goeing in found the Sd Salter standing up by the window
asked what is the matter the negar replied againe saiing Mt Bradnox
& Salter had been together by the Eares yor depnt taking the Sd Salter
by the Collar tooke him away into the dining room & theare sitting
downe upon the Couch perswading him to be quiett the sd Salter
replied againe I will put my life into yor hands yor depnt not under
standing what they fell out for told him none there should wrong
him where upon the sd Salter & yor depnt rose up & went to the End
of the table Mr Bradnox coming in sd to the sd Salter thou rogue thou
hast laine with my wife & Salter replied againe noe ould Tom thou
liest & when yor depnt heard those words pswaded them both to be
