Expences. And as it is not in the Power of the State to furnish
Specie for these and every other contingent Expence, We request
you to dispose of as much Wheat or Flour as will answer that Pur-
pose. We hope no Delay whatever may take Place and retard the
Execution of this important and necessary Business.
p. S. to be added to Mr Calhoun's Lre
Mr Hanson Briscoe of Chaptico, St Mary's County, has Vessels
and will engage to transport all the Wheat in that County, and per-
haps, in the neighbouring ones.

Monday 3 December 1781.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas F Eccles-
ton one pound, nineteen shillings of the Bills emitted under the Act
for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca of the money appropriated
for the Defence of this State for the use of Jonathan Bestpitch per
Acct passed by the Aud Gl
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas F Eccleston twelve pounds,
eight shillings and four pence of the Same Emission of the money
aforesaid for the use of Capt Edward Staplefort & the party under
his Command whilst they were keeping Guard at Cambridge per Acct
passed by the Aud Genl.

That the said Treasurer pay to the said Thomas F. Eccleston six
pounds, seventeen shillings and three pence of the same Emission of
the money aforesaid, two pounds, seven shillings and six pence part
thereof to be delivered over to Priscilla Ball & four pounds, nine
shillings and nine pence to Jonathan Bestpich per Acct passed by the
Aud. Genl.
That the Said Treasurer pay to John Seney Esq one pound two
shillings and eight pence of the Same Emission, of the money appropd
for the present Campaign to be delivered over to James Hackett per
Account passed by the Aud Gen' —
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Robert Denny five pounds, of
the Same Emission, of the money aforesaid to be delivered over to
Henry Flannagan a soldier in the 3 Maryland Regimt lately returned
from Captivity in Charles Town South Carolina on Account
That the said Treasurer pay to John Brown Esqr sixteen pounds
and seven pence Specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due
from this State per Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Doct James Craik
Chief Physician & Surgeon to the Army Cloth & Trimmings for a
Suit of Cloaths & one Waistcoat & Breeches & Linen for 4 Shirts
in full per the last & present year on Account
