That the said Treasurer pay to Benjamin Fitzgerrald fourteen
pounds, sixteen shillings and eight pence of the same Emission for
the use of Clement Fitzgerrald per Account passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Isaac Harris two hundred and
forty two pounds, fifteen shillings and six pence specie agreeable to
the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State per Account passed
the 21 Instant —

[Council to Major John Davidson.]

Information having been given to this Board, by General Small-
wood, that several of the Soldiers of this State, in the Continental
Service, have deserted within these few Days, and that he has great
Reason to believe they are secreted on Board the Ship Matilda, lying
off the Harbour, commanded by Captn James Belt. This is therefore
to authorize you to examine and search the said Vessel, and if you
find any Soldiers on Board, to bring them on Shore and give this
Board Information thereof, and this shall be your sufficient
Authority.

From Information received from General Smallwood, we have
Reason to believe some of the Soldiers who have lately deserted, are
on Board your Vessel, secreted by your Crew; we have therefore
empowered Majr Davidson to go on Board and examine her, and if
he finds any Soldiers to bring them on Shore. From your Conduct
heretofore, we have an Assurance that you are not privy to the secret-
ing the Men and rest assured that Majr Davidson will meet with no
Obstacle in the Execution of the Orders given him

Commissions issued to Joseph Lewis appointed Captain, Jesse
Jerrett Lieutenant and Jesse Bussey Junr Cornet of a Troop of
Horse in Harford County raised in Virtue of " An Act to encourage
the raising a Volunteer Troop of Light Horse in Baltimore Town
and each County in this State " —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Henry Miles one
hundred and fifty nine pounds sixteen shillings and six pence of the
Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca
to be delivered over to sundry persons mentioned in three Accounts
examined by the Depy Auditor herewith sent for Salt manufactured
and sold agreeable to the Act to encourage the importation and manu-
facturing of Salt within the States.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Thomas Rouse and Capt
John Courts Jones, each, thirty pounds of the same Emission in lieu
of a Suit of Cloaths and four shirts for the present Year on Account.
