Charges against Ignatius Wheeler one of the Justices of
Harford County

1st That he is so ignorant, that he is little removed from an Idiot,
and scarcely able to write his name
2d That he is entirely under the Influence of one Allender who is
represented to be so great a Villain that his Equal scarcely exists.
3d That he bears no authority on the Seat of Justice; peaceable
men are insulted before him by Ruffians, with the most indecent and
blackguard Language. — Breaches of the Peace and Assaults & Bat-
teries are committed before him with Impunity. —

4. Of Malversation in Office; particularly in rendering Judgment
and issuing Execution for John Haley against Samuel Henry; —
in rendering Judgment and issuing Execution against Joseph Hus-
band — also against James Holmes — in rendering Judgment against
Mrs Fisher for Sedwick James : — in his Conduct on the Applica-
tion of John Patrick to be admitted to take the Oath of the Peace
against sundry Inhabitants of Harford County who had opened an
Old road which was stopped by said Patrick without Authority : —
in meeting at a Scandalous Tipling house to execute the Office of
Magistrate : — in rendering Judgment against William Hopkins Junr
who had warranted a Man, who acknowleged he was indebted to the
said Hopkins.

5th Of false swearing against William Hopkins Junr that he had
insulted him in the Execution of his Office. —

Charges against Abraham Whitaker one of the Justices of
Harford County

1st Of Malversation in Office, particularly, that he frequently
issues Executions, without Cause against respectable Inhabitants of
Harford County in order to put Money into the pocket of one Allen-
der, who is said to be his friend, & is represented to be so great a
Villain that his equal Scarcely exists; particularly in a Case under
Warrant by Robert Harris against Edward Tredway; in Issuing
Execution for Walter Taylor against William Hopkins Junr. —

Charges against John Love, Thomas Johnson and Ignatius Wheeler
Justices of Harford County. —

1st Of Malversation in Office, in their Proceedings at a Tipling
house on a general Warrant against Joseph Wilson, Joseph Wilson
Junior, Samuel Wilson, B Wilson and Stephen Jay, for old Levies
due to John Taylor Esquire. —

The Board not having time to go thro' the Enquiry the further
Consid3 is postponed 'till to morrow
