It is thought unnecessary to keep a Guard over the small quantity
of Powder in the Magazine under your Care, and Mr Shaw has
Directions to have it brought to this place. You will therefore be
pleased to deliver him the Key and Discharge the Guard.

Present His Excellency the Governor

Benja Stoddert, Gabl Duvall, Jeremiah T. Chase and James Brice
Esquires. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Priscilla Pink-
ney Twenty seven pounds, five shillings specie agreeably to the "Act
to adjust the Debts due from this State " per Account passed. —

The Board taking into Consideration the Petition of George
Lytel, James Lytel, Elijah Hughes, Benjamin Hughes, James Hughes
Jas Norris and Abraham Hays Inhabitants of Baltimore County,
who had been severally fined at a Criminal Court held for Baltimore
County in September 1781 in the Sums following, to wit, the said
George Lytel for Assaulting and beating a certain Sarah Hughes
the Sum of Thirty Pounds Current Money, and the said George
Lytell together with the said Elijah Hughes, James Lytell, James
Hughes, Benjamin Hughes, Abraham Hays, and Jas Norris for a
Riot committed at the House of John Hughes each in the Sum of
Twenty five Pounds Current Money : And it appearing to the Board
by the Certificates of a number of respectable Persons in Baltimore
County that the Petitioners are persons having but little Property
of peaceable Character, and general good Deportment, and that the
said Sarah Hughes is a person of bad reputation, and that the fines
in several Instances exceed the whole Amount of the Property of
the Persons fined, are of Opinion that the greater part of the said
fines should be remitted therefore Ordered that the whole of the
fines on the said George Lytell except the Sum of Five pounds Cur-
rent Money be remitted; and that the whole of the fines on all the
other Petitioners except the Sum of Ten shillings each be also
remitted. —

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer issue a Certificate to
Nicholas Maccubbin Agreeably to the "Act proposing to the Citizens
of this State, Creditors of Congress &ca " for Two hundred and
Eighty seven pounds, eleven shillings due him on Continental Loan
Office Certificates adjusted by the Deputy Audr

That the said Treasurer pay to Joseph Howard Junr Three pounds
thirteen shillings and ten pence specie per Account passed. —
