Thursday 29th May 1783.

Present as on Yesterday. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Sarah Burgess
fifty one pounds, thirteen shillings specie agreeable to the Act to ad-
just the Debts due from this State per Certificate adjusted and
passed. —

Saturday 31th May 1783

Present His Excellency the Governor.
Benjamin Stoddert, Gabriel Duvall & Jeremiah T. Chase Esquires
Ordered that the Issuing Commissary deliver to Christopher
Renol a Discharged soldier and entitled to the Provision made by
Congress, taking care to return a particular Account of the same to
this Board. —

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Zachariah Duvall
forty eight pounds, & Robert Johnson Twenty two pounds, thirteen
shillings specie agreeable to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from
this State " per Accounts passed the 29th Instant. —
That the said Treasurer pay to William Davis Allen thirty six
pounds, fifteen shillings — Nicholas Hockey Thirty two pounds, five
shillings and nine pence, John Norris nine pounds, fifteen shillings
and to Barruch Coop nine pounds, sixteen shillings and eight pence
specie agreeable to the Act aforesaid per Accounts passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Benjamin Blunt, One pound,
seventeen shillings and six pence specie agreeable to the Act afore-
said in lieu of an Order of the 31 May 1781 on the Treasurer, which
is returned. —

As we conceive it of very great importance, that some mode should
be adopted for carrying the enclosed Resolution of Congress into
effect, we take the Liberty of again submitting it to your Considera-
tion. The poor Creatures who are the Objects of it, are Daily re-
turning to the State, without Cloaths, without Money, and without
Friends, and rendered by their wounds and infirmities totally desti-
tute of the Means of subsistence
